In 1985 the decision long expected by the students and the teachers was made. It was the profound renovation of the old school building connected with a small conversion. That renovation was made possible by the finacial help of 63 institutions such as PSS "SPOŁEM", Mazurska Wytwórnia Tytoniu Przemysło- wego, Foto Pam, Augustowskie Zakłady Obuwia. The works were already finished on 21^st July 1987. Teachers and parents also helped with tidying the rooms. 25 million zlotych was donated to the building by the National Fund of the Deed of Help. On 1^st September 1987 the Primary School No 2 moved to the new building which was built on the place of the old school in 1 Rajgrodzka Street. The gates of the school were opened by the headmaster Ms Czesława Derda and her deputy Ms Wiesława Wawiórko. On 18^th September 1987 the ceremony of making the first class pupils the full rights members of our school took place. All students took on oath and got beatiful dliplomas. On 25^th November 1987 the 5^th session of Pedagogic Progress was held in our school. The representatives from KO in Suwałki and Augustów and teachers from Augustów took participation in that session. The problem of activating students in the process of learning was discussed. The new school had 22 classrooms for teaching different subjects, for kindergarten and for children with learning difficulties. The backroom of new school was also very well - equiped. Congratulations should be entitled to the designer, the contractors, the principles of the town Augustów and to all people engaged in  the building.
